YOUNGSTERS Scott Finnan and TJ Mellor were unable to overcome veteran Liberal pair Bill Brereton and Bill Armstrong in the Crewe Liberal Club Open League Dominoes Pairs Knockout final.

The Darts Singles Knockouts for Division Three to Five players was won by Ben Davies of Prince of Wales A, he hit a 180 in a 2-0 victory over Shaun Young of Liberal.

The Crewe Liberal Club Open League Summer Team Knockout third round saw three Premier, four Division One and one Division Two teams make the quarter-finals.

In an all-premiership clash holders Westend Lmr B disposed of Nantwich Road Aslef after Dave Bickerton included a 180 in his 17 dart victory and won four of six dominoes games.

Vine A opened a 5-2 darts advantage but were the only top flight side to fall as Division One Cheshire Cheese fought back at dominoes.

Cheese pairings Mick Pointon and Cindy Hough and Barry Heywood and Stuart Bloor won the decisive games.

Westend Band C whitewashed White Lion(Copp) assisted by Robbie Arrowsmith, 14 darts, and Mark Tirrell, 15 darts. Premier Division Pioneers A struggled against Division Two Oddfellows, but took the darts 5-2 with John Cooper’s 180 in a 16 darter and Andy Poynton hitting 17 darts.

Pies duo John Woolley and Keith Morgan secured an 8-7 aggregate win in the dominoes after an Oddfellows fight back.

Bridge C are the only Division Two team left after upsetting Division One visitors Earl of Chester 8-4.

Tommy Clarke finished a 110 checkout on the bull and Simon Murphy hit a 96 finish to a 21 darter.

Flying Lady A, Broughton and Nantwich Road also went through against White Lion F/Lane A, Hawk and Rileys A.
