IT was no coincidence that the Lego Indiana Jones game hit the shelves around the same time as the new film.
But while some people may have been slightly disappointed by Indy’s latest adventure on the silver screen, this retains the high standards that the franchise deserves.
Developed by Knutsford’s own Traveller’s Tales studio, this game very much follows in the same mould as the BAFTA award-winning Lego Star Wars titles — swapping light sabres and space stations for whips and temples.
The simple joy of Lego Indiana Jones is the nostalgia element and seeing these little adorable Lego men play out some of the most iconic movie scenes has an instant appeal.
As for the gameplay, the controls are just as accessible as last time but can be a bit too twitchy meaning lives can be lost inadvertently, although that is the only grumble.
With Lego Batman’s arrival, it looks like this homegrown series is here to stay.
