PULL on your cardigan, grab a White Russian and polish up your bowling skills because The Big Lebowski is coming to the Pyramid.

The cult film, starring Jeff Bridges, will be on the big screen as part of Culture Warrington's second season of classic and contemporary films.

Joel and Ethan Coen's Raymond Chandler-inspired comedy sees a slacker Jeffrey Lebowski (Bridges), known as 'The Dude' mistaken for a millionaire of the same name by two hapless criminals.

The Dude just wants compensation for his soiled rug but the wonderfully bizarre plot sees the stoner get drawn in to deliver a ransom for the release of the millionaire Lebowski's kidnapped wife.

If you have yet to see The Big Lebowski then this is a great chance to see the movie on the big screen on Friday, June 19.

Full of surreal comedy, memorable larger-than-life characters and infinitely quotable dialogue, the film is considered one of the Coen brothers' finest.

And this is the pair who have brought us the likes of Fargo, No Country For Old Men, Miller's Crossing, Raising Arizona and O Brother, Where Art Thou?

The other great thing about The Big Lebowski is the cast. Just wait until you have seen The Dude's bowling buddies John Goodman as a short tempered, gun-toting Vietnam veteran Walter and John Turturro as 'the Jesus'.

The Pyramid film season is being supported by Film Hub North West Central, a part of the BFI Film Audience Network.

And The Big Lebowski night will be themed to make it extra special with White Russians for all and bowling in the intermission.
