Robert De Niro has revealed he will be reuniting with Martin Scorsese next year, and will also be working on a film with Jennifer Aniston.

The 72-year-old actor told Digital Spy that he will work with director Scorsese in 2016 for their long-planned crime thriller I Heard You Paint Houses.

He’s also teaming up with Jennifer for Taylor Hackford’s long-awaited drama, The Comedian.

Speaking of his collaboration with Scorsese, De Niro said: “We are doing it… We should be doing it sometime next year. We’re slowly, slowly getting it in place.”

The pair have previously worked together on classic films such as Goodfellas, Taxi Driver and Raging Bull.

I Heard You Paint Houses is based on the best-selling novel by Charles Brandt, in which De Niro is set to play mob hitman Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran.

Al Pacino and Joe Pesci are rumoured to be joining the film too.

De Niro has confirmed that he’ll be starting shooting drama The Comedian in New York from January.

Scorsese was at one point rumoured to be attached to the movie but Ray director Taylor Hackford has been confirmed.

The Art-Linson scripted drama, in which De Niro will play a comic alongside Jennifer Aniston, has been his passion project for several years, but only just found a director and funding.

De Niro is currently starring in The Intern with Anne Hathaway.
