AN award-winning photographer had the ‘best day of her life’ when she spent the day shooting the stars at the NME awards in London.
Hollie Cookson, 18, from Warrington, scooped first prize in the My Britain competition to win an exclusive one-day internship with Getty Images’ entertainment photographer, Dave Hogan.
She impressed judges with her images depicting life in the north west and chose to attend the NME awards because of her love of music.
Hollie said: “The best bit was coming face-to-face with all the stars, mainly the Mighty Boosh and Muse because they are such heroes of mine.
“Being on the red carpet and wearing my press pass sticker said it all – I wore it with pride and felt very privileged to be there.
“At first I was a bit nervous shouting at the celebrities to look over at me, but I soon got into it and Dave gave me some great advice to shout from behind the camera and just keep taking shots – it worked a treat.”
Dave added: “Hollie is a highly-talented young photographer who has the drive and determination to succeed.”
