ACHIEVEMENTS of the county’s top tourism businesses were celebrated in style at the glittering Visit Chester & Cheshire awards presentation evening.

The fourth annual event at Chester Racecourse was attended by more than 420 guests and saw Wish You Were Here presenter Mark Durden-Smith announce the winning nominations across 15 categories.

The presentations followed rigorous assessment by a panel of experts, including entrepreneur and star of TV show Secret Millionaire Mo Chaudry, UKTV Food’s Roopa Gulati, and Helen Hokin, editor of Food and Travel Magazine.

Among the winners were Cholmondeley Castle, which won Event of the Year for its firework display, Ness Gardens, that won Large Visitor Attraction of the Year and Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre, which won Small Visitor Attraction of the Year.

Mark said: "The winners have all demonstrated that quality, commitment and attention to detail is behind their success. Cheshire is renowned for making all of its visitors feel welcome – tonight’s very worthy winners can only enhance that reputation.”
