WARRINGTON waterways will be inundated with dragons on May 11 when boaters will be raising funds for charity.
Twenty traditional 40ft Chinese dragon boats with crews of 10 to 16 people, including a drummer and qualified helm, will be competing for the top prize during the St Rocco's race.
The event will take place on the River Mersey at Warrington Rowing Club on Howley Lane by Kingsway Bridge.
St Rocco's fundraiser Katrina Bury said: "One of the advantages of dragon boating is that you can form a crew, and with little experience and knowledge, quickly become competent.
"It is a sport and recreational activity that can be pursued by everyone and anyone of all abilities.
"That is why dragon boating has captured such interest amongst men and women alike."
There is no age limit or level of fitness required and each boat is guaranteed at least three races with three trophies awarded at the end of the day.
If you would like to enter a team in the race, contact Katrina on 01925 575780 or email katrinabury@stroccos.org.uk
