PREPARE to be transported to a bygone era when medieval jousting comes to Arley Hall in May.
The Knights of Middle England will bring the 14th century sport to life once again at the Arley Horse Trials and Country Fair on Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18.
The spectacular show features a full contact jousting tournament along with other medieval games.' The team's leader Karl Ude-Martinez has been showcasing his jousting and sword fighting skills across Europe for more than 15 years, but believes that few places provide a better backdrop than the historic Cheshire grounds.
"Performing at the Arley Estate has to be one of the best weekends of the year for us," said Karl, who is also a professional actor and polo player.
"With the Hall as the backdrop and the remarkable grounds and gardens all around us, it adds an extra dimension to the show. I think it helps the crowds get involved and gives a feeling of reality to the performances."
The fair will also feature gun dog displays, shire horses, local food produce, falconry, archery, shooting and angling, as well as the prestigious Arley Horse Trials.
Tickets for the fair start from £9 in advance and children from £3. To book, call the ticket hotline on 01565 777353 or visit arleyhallandgardens.com
