STEVE Holland revealed the club are in talks with an unnamed striker.
Even if Nicky Maynard stays, Crewe will want to bolster their firepower in the summer.

And the Alex boss looked excited about this potential signing today.
"We've spoked to a striker," said Holland.
"He'd be my first choice of signing someone.
"He's said he wants to come here which is a major step forward.
"He's played against our academy teams in the past.
"He's fully aware of the history at this club and how players move on and he's exciting about coming so that gives us a chance.
"It's the most advanced deal at this stage."
Holland confirmed the move would be for a fee.
