Ade Adeel washes a car to raise money for the One in Eleven appeal
CUSTOMERS at Crewe Car Wash got a shiny clean automobile and helped the One in Eleven Appeal on a final drive to reach its goal.
The team at the Remer Street car wash is donating all profits from Friday, November 2 to the appeal, which aims to create a new neonatal unit at Leighton Hospital.
The new business has only been operating for a few weeks and has been set up by Mohammed Adeel, known as Ade.
Ade, 20, said: “We decided to get involved with the appeal as we are new to Crewe and we wanted to make a difference to the local area.”
The appeal needs £1.8m to start work on the new unit next year. Thanks to the fantastic efforts of fundraisers and an incredible donation of £1.5m from the Frank Hockenhull Trust, the appeal is now only £20,000 from its target.
Around 3,000 babies are born every year in Mid Cheshire Hospitals and approximately one in eleven will need additional support. This ranges from a few hours of special care to a few weeks in an intensive care unit.
