Archaeology students go potty
ARCHAEOLOGY students at South Cheshire College in Crewe enjoyed a cracking hands-on practical session during their course.
The second year A-Level group were given broken pots of different shapes and sizes and had the task of restoring them to their former glory using reconstruction techniques.
Archaeology Lecturer Dr Jonathan Hills, said: “The session focussed on acquainting the students with the techniques that archaeologists use to reconstruct vessels from archaeological sites.
Mary Sharrock, 17, of Crewe, added: “This was a great way of learning more about how archaeological digs work outside the classroom.”
