CHILDREN will be invited to see what it takes to keep the county ticking on November 23.

Cheshire East Council (CEC) is opening its doors to young people as part of the Government children’s commissioner’s Takeover Day.

The event gives youngsters the chance to get involved in decision-making and experience the world of work, while adults are encouraged to listen to children’s fresh perspectives on what they do.

Children visiting CEC will have the chance to shadow senior officers for a day, and see for themselves what is involved in the day-to-day running of a local authority.

The scheme is open to anyone aged between 13-19 years.

Some young applicants will also get the opportunity to support the running of youth hubs in Crewe.

Young people wanting to get involved can pick up a form from their career adviser at school, from the Youth Support Centre in Crewe at 23-25 Market Street, or by emailing: kay.banks@cheshireeast.gov.uk.
