CREWE is getting ready to rumble this month, as Grand Slam Wrestling comes to town for a series of fundraising matchups.

The professional federation take over the Victoria Community Centre on Friday, November 23 for an evening of bouts to raise money for the Beat Bullying charity.

International wrestlers will take on home-grown heroes, with Congleton’s Danny Driscoll taking on the 6ft 7inc, 23 stone American fighter, Sam Adonis.

The evening looks set to recall the heyday of classic British wrestling, when Crewe’s own Count Bartelli attracted huge crowds.

Other stars due to appear are the larger than life favourite, Fearless Flatliner, the high flying Mexican sensation, Magico, and - making his last UK appearance before heading to USA’s WWE - Caul Curtis.

Doors open at 7pm. Advance tickets starting at £8 are on sale from the Victoria Community Centre box office, or on the door at the event.
