Head Boy John Hillerby and Head Girl Alice Simmons meet Mark Cueto, who was a pupil at the school between 1990-95
ENGLAND international rugby union player, Mark Cueto, congratulated pupils of his former school during St Thomas More Catholic High’s awards ceremony evening.
The Sale Sharks winger joined teachers and students in the opulent surroundings of Crewe’s Lyceum Theatre to honour the hard work and endeavour of current pupils and former Year 11 students.
630 people attended the event, where a bumper crop of 80 awards were given out among 11-16 year-olds.
The evening marked the first time the school has staged their annual awards ceremony at the famous theatre.
Assistant head, Theresa Madden, said: “It was a fantastic evening. We always have an awards ceremony, but this was the first time we went outside the school. The Lyceum is a lovely venue, and it made for an extra special evening.
“Mark was lovely with the pupils. He took the time to chat and meet students. Everyone had a great time.”
