HARDWORKING midwife, Tamsin Williamson, received a well-earned free lunch after delivering little Ellie May Barlow.
The Leighton Hospital newborn was an early Christmas gift for mum and dad, Laura and David.
Ellie, who weighed 9lb 2oz, slept peacefully before being handed back to her parents.
Meanwhile, Leighton’s hardworking team tucked into their own early Christmas gift – a selection of free festive sandwiches courtesy of Robert Bakery.
Andy Matzen from Roberts Bakery explained: We wanted to give them a little Yuletide treat to mark the fantastic job they do in delivering so many babies here every year.”
Leighton’s maternity unit delivers around 3,000 babies per annum. It was re-opened in October following an extensive six month refurbishment.
For their Twelve Tastes of Christmas menu, Roberts Bakery have created 11 festive themed sandwiches. They are running a competition for readers to create the 12th.
The winner gets a festive hamper. To enter, visit www.robertsbakery.co.uk/12tastes
