Andy at home in Crewe alongside Farley
THANKS to his new best friend, Crewe guide dog owner, Andy Parkinson, is once again able to show dedication to his team.
Andy, a lifelong Wigan Warriors fan, was delighted to purchase his new season ticket to his favorite club knowing that he will be accompanied by his faithful guide dog, Labrador cross golden retriever, Farley.
The pair were partnered earlier this year after Andy suddenly lost most of his sight in 2002.
Andy started to lose confidence and slipped into depression before being matched with Farley, who has given him a new lease of life and the confidence to get out and about independently.
Andy and Farley will be making the journey up to Wigan by train for every home game, where they will be able to meet Andy’s brother and enjoy the match.
Andy said: “Farley and I have become inseparable since we were partnered back in May 2011, and I wouldn’t be able to go to the game without him.
"The Club have been so helpful, making Farley and I feel very welcome. They have been kind enough to give us two extra seats free of charge so that Farley will be able to lie down next to me during the match.”
