RAIL passengers visiting North Wales from Crewe will be able to ride in more comfort after the upgrade of Arriva Trains rolling stock.
Crewe based company LNWR oversaw a complete refit of 24 of the line operator’s Class 158 units as part of a £9.5 million contract.
Refurbishments began in early 2011. The final fully refurbished train is now back in service on the Cambrian Line.
Alongside new interiors, the trains have been fitted with new passenger information systems.
LNWR managing director, Mark Knowles, said: “Renovating the fleet was a major project and the experienced team we have at Crewe were central to its success.”
