EVER wondered what smell embodies a Bentley - oil, petrol, exhaust fumes?
Not so, according to the Crewe luxury car manufacturer, which this week launched a new frangrance range boasting a ‘fitting elixir of fine woody notes and exquisite leather.’
The top-end bottle of the scent - housed in a bespoke crystal bottle designed by esteemed French artisans, Lalique - will still set shoppers back £3,000.
Bog standard editions, including a range of shampoos and shaving balms, range between a more modest £24 to £60.
The fragrance – dubbed Eau de Crewe by some observers – complements ‘the epicentres of excellence within Bentley’s craftsmanship,’ according to the company.
“Precious orris butter accord enriches the scent to create a sensual and charismatic character,” they claim.
Silvio Denz, CEO of Lalique., comments: “Bentley and Lalique have a similar history. Both companies were founded almost 100 years ago. Both stand for craftsmanship and tradition, but also for luxury, lifestyle and innovation. To create a fragrance together is to capture the essence of our skills and our vision in a bottle.”
The Bentley for Men and a ‘high-impact’ Bentley for Men Intense fragrances have been created by French perfumer, Nathalie Lorson.
“She has skilfully transformed the quintessence of the luxury automotive brand Bentley into a superb and unmistakeable fragrance experience,” say Bentley.
