WELL-wishers are invited to add their ‘good lucks’ to Crewe Alexandra as they head for Wembley and the chance of silverware.
Cheshire East Council (CEC) are due to add their official backing to the football club this month, after The Alex secured a spot in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final with victory over Coventry City on February 20.
Willaston and Rope ward clr, Brian Silvester, is due to toast the team’s success at a forthcoming council meeting, and ask CEC to get officially back The Railwaymen.
He said: “The winning philosophy of the team and their appearances in the national sporting media helps to put Cheshire East on the map, and will encourage many more people to support the Alex and visit the Borough.
“It will also lead to more local people playing football and becoming involved in healthy activity.
“Everyone involved with Crewe Alexandra should be congratulated on their continuing success."
