HELP and advice is close at hand for people living in Weaver Vale social housing whether it’s looking for a job, writing a CV or learning interview techniques.

A dedicated team at Weaver Vale Housing Trust is running Employment Horizons, which is a new scheme aimed at encouraging tenants to access a wide range of employment support.

Trained and knowledgeable staff will work on a one-to-one basis building confidence and helping people to find a job that is most suitable, encouraging them to be independent and self reliant.

The help and advice is available four times a week at four different locations and the guidance drop in sessions will have access to computers, so that people can improve their IT skills and create CVs, as well as question and answer meetings to ensure all areas of employment are covered.

Staff can also help if tenants aren’t ready to find work, due to caring commitments or other responsibilities, but are willing to learn new skills, gain qualifications or offer volunteer work, so that they have recent work experience when they are ready to look for a job.

The Employment Horizons team are at Gadbrook Business Park in Rudheath between 9am and noon every Monday and Friday, Greenfields Bungalow in Winsford between 2pm and 5pm on Wednesdays and at Greenbank Hub in Hartford on Thursday afternoons from 2.30pm until 4.30pm.
