Call in for a coffee to help Macmillan unit
4:10pm Sunday 8th September 2013 in News
THE Macmillan Cancer Unit at Leighton Hospital is inviting members of the public to call in for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake as part of a national day of fundraising.
The Macmillan team based at the hospital are participating in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fundraising event on Friday, September 27, and are issuing an open invitation for members of the local community to join them.
Julie Pieczarka, Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Manager, said: “At the event last year we were the highest fundraisers in Cheshire, raising more than £3,700 as a hospital, and we are thrilled to be taking part in the event again this year.
“Everybody is welcome to attend, whether it’s for a drink or just to find out some more information about the services that the unit can offer.
“As well as serving tea, coffee and cakes, we’ll also be holding a raffle, with prizes kindly donated by local companies. Every penny raised on the day will go towards supporting more patients and families affected by cancer.”
