HOUGH resident David Dunn won first prize in the Joules Brewery 2nd Annual Chilli Eating Contest at the Dorothy Clive Garden Festival on Sunday, September 29.
David, was declared the winner of the Competition after completing ten rounds of chilli eating including the Seven Pot Yellow, Trinidad Scorpion and the Trinidad Scorpion Morouga Red – currently the hottest chilli in the world.
David won a 36 pint box of Joules Ale, two brewery tour tickets and meal for two in Stoke.
“I didn’t feel much pain and I found most of the chillies really sweet,” said David. “It was such a fantastic event and I can’t wait for next year’s. Bring on the heat.”
Thirteen contestants took part in the contest, with David declared the victor in the last round, when the three other contestants remaining could not continue.
