Shades of glory for Railwaymen club shop
7:00am Sunday 13th October 2013 in News
CREWE Alexandra FC has given its club shop a fresh coat of their very own ‘Railwaymen Red’.
The special paint was produced by Johnstone’s as part of their football clubs colour card, which features hues matched to club shirt colours, giving fans the chance to deck their houses in the exact shade of their beloved teams.
The paint manufacturers have sponsored the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy since 2006, which Crewe Alexandra are the present holders of following the Wembley victory.
Railwaymen Red references the club’s nickname, and the bold colour, supplied by the Johnstone’s Decorating Centre on the Crewe Gates Farm Industrial Estate, now graces the club shop.
Johnstone’s district operations manager, Lisa Farrelly, said: “We are delighted that Crewe Alexandra has used one of Johnstone’s market-leading products to give the club shop a new look for the new season.
“The innovative colour tinting machines across our Johnstone’s Decorating Centre network can match to over 16,000 colours and ensures we can offer something for the requirements of all our customers, including professional football clubs.”
Alex manager, Steve Davis, said: “The supporters have already been in to the shop and given us positive feedback on the Railwaymen Red colour.
“The Johnstone’s Paint Trophy is a great competition and their initiatives to engage the players and supporters, especially the younger ones, have been top class. It is a real fan oriented competition and it is fantastic to be the holders of the trophy.”
