YOUNGSTERS from a Kumon study centre have been recognised in an Advanced Student Honour Roll awards at Nantwich Methodist Church.

Students from the Kumon Nantwich Study Centre were awarded for their success and continued development studying on the Kumon Maths and English Programmes.

A total of 25 students and their parents attended the awards ceremony and instructor Sarah Lowe presented their certificates and medals for their achievement of reaching the Kumon International Standard.

Some students surpassed this, meaning they are studying advanced work in comparison to their peers world-wide.

Sarah said: "The ASR awards ceremony was a wonderful event and gave the children additional motivation to progress towards working above their school level. I feel honoured to be involved in the lives of our local children.

“Helping to shape their futures is a very rewarding experience and the event was a great opportunity to celebrate their hard work and achievements."

The ceremony also encouraged and motivated students who have yet to reach ASHR status by recognising the study skills they have developed.

Daily study of the Kumon programmes requires dedication and perseverance from both the student and their parents.

Established for more than 50 years, the Kumon programmes enable children to develop their independent study skills and confidently tackle advanced work beyond the international standard for their age.

Students initially start at a comfortable level with a focus on building a strong foundation in the way they study; they will develop invaluable study skills such as concentration, pace and rhythm before progressing to more advanced work.

Kumon Educational is the UK’s largest supplementary education provider, with more than 66,000 students studying at 650 plus study centres.
