THE A500 has re-opened following a crash this morning that left a man from Crewe dead.

The collision occurred at 4.50am on Monday, December 23 and involved a lorry and a car.

The driver of the car, a man in his fifties from Crewe, suffered fatal injuries.

Following the crash, the road was closed between the Peacock Roundabout (Junction A51 and A534) and the Chearbrook Roundabout (junction A500 and A51).

Emergency services have now completed their work at the scene, and the road has been re-opened.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision. If you can assist, please contact Crewe Police on the non emergency number 101, quoting incident number 107 of 23/12/2013.
