Police advise M6 Junction 16 avoidance after lorry crash

POLICE are advising motorists to avoid junction 16 of the M6 following a collision involving a lorry.

At 10.44am on Tuesday, January 7, emergency services attended a collision on the northbound carriageway involving a HGV.

The lorry overturned and is blocking part of the carriageway.

The northbound carriageway has been closed while emergency services work at the scene and the southbound side is heavily congested.

Motorists are advised to find alternative routes.

Anyone with information on the collision should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 249 of 7 January 2014.
