A HOTEL in Crewe received a new look in time for Christmas.
The 56-room Travelodge was refurbished in one week by the in-house maintenance team without any disturbance to the day-to-day running of the hotel.
The revamp includes a new room design and a luxury bed called the Travelodge Dreamer.
It is part of a company-wide £223 million investment, which include 14 new hotel openings and a £57 million refurbishment programme.
Andy White, Crewe Travelodge hotel manager, said: “We are very excited to have benefited from this investment.
“The work was carried out with no disturbance to our day-to-day operation and the feedback we have received from customers has been outstanding.
“Everyone loves the new warm, contemporary feel of our new room and there is no doubt the hero of the room is definitely the Travelodge Dreamer bed.
“The demand for good quality branded budget accommodation in the area is growing at great pace, and now that we have a new room design we are offering even greater value in the local marketplace.”
By the end of the year Travelodge plans to have refitted more than 50 per cent of all its rooms.
By autumn 2014, 85 per cent of Travelodge’s estate will incorporate the new room design, meaning the makeover will see an average of more than 50 rooms refurbished every day for the next 18 months.
The scale of the refurbishment programme means one million man hours will go into the refit, along with 60,000 tins of paint and 30,000 new beds – enough to cover nine football pitches.
The refurbishment follows 12 months of extensive research with Travelodge customers to create an inviting, functional and relaxing room for business and leisure travellers.
