INVESTIGATORS believe that a fire that engulfed a Shavington home on Wednesday, December 15, was started deliberately.
Two fire engines from Crewe and one from Nantwich were called to the blaze at an address in Newcastle Road at 2.44pm.
They found a detached property that was fully smoke logged and crews wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reel jets and a covering jet to tackle the incident.
Police were in attendance at the incident and closed Newcastle Road at the junctions with Heymoor Green Lane and Crewe Road.
After an hour tackling the fire, crews moved a high pressure fan into the property to ventilate smoke.
Fire investigators moved in and have concluded that the fire was started deliberately.
