AN Audlem pub is toasting a £300,000 investment in a new menu and decor.

The Shroppie Fly in Shropshire Street has been redecorated while retaining the waterside theme and old world charm, including its famous Shroppie Fly bar.

The Punch Taverns public house also boasts a new menu, with home cooked mains including chargrilled and brasserie specialities.

Managing Director Tim Joudrey said: “I can’t believe the transformation, the customers love the fresher look but are really pleased that we have kept the authenticity. They particularly like the historic memorabilia which has been collected from boaters and historians.

“I believe we have created a great environment for all and we have been overwehlemed by the support from local residents and they are happy to have their pub back.”
