THE body of a man from Crewe has been found by police on the Staffordshire Moorlands.

David Palin was reported missing at 10.30pm on Thursday January 30.

He was staying with a friend in Bottomhouse, near Leek, and was last seen at around 1.30am on Thursday January 30.

Police launched a search of the moorlands, which was called off on Saturday when his body was discovered.

Mr Palin, 45, lived near Hyde Park in Central London but originated from Crewe.

A police spokesman said:”A significant search of the Moorlands was undertaken by police and sadly the search was called off when the body was discovered around a mile from Blackbrook.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and detectives are preparing a report for Her Majesties Coroner as is normal in cases like this.

“Officers are comforting friends and relatives at the tragic time and Staffordshire Police want to thank everyone who help support the appeal for the missing man.”
