CAMPAIGNERS calling for more help for those struggling to keep warm this winter delivered a hand-knitted scarf to Edward Timpson MP in Parliament to thank him for his support.

The scarf was one of hundreds knitted by supporters of the Energy Bill Revolution campaign to mark Cold Homes Week – a series of events and activities designed to focus attention on the concerning state of many homes in the UK.

The Energy Bill Revolution campaign has brought together almost 180 organisations, charities and companies to highlight to government what can be done to help those in cold homes by providing support for insulation and energy efficiency schemes.

It has called on government to recycle carbon taxes into help for households to become more efficient, and to help families to cut their bills.

Edward Timpson MP said: “Prevention is always better than cure. So the more we can do upfront to help ensure homes are as energy efficient – both here in Crewe and Nantwich and across the country – the greater prospect we have of keeping our energy bills low.”
