A NANTWICH gallery is exhibiting works by famous artists including Picasso, Matisse and Renoir this month.

Bailey Arts’ School of Paris exhibition at the Dagfields Arts Centre will showcase rare pieces by leading artists who worked in France’s capital in the first half of the 20th century.

Among various works for sale will be Marc Chagall’s Fond noir et bleu – one of only 308 monotypes created in his lifetime.

A spokesman for Bailey Arts said: “This is a very special event because it is so rare for such a prestigious group of authenticated works by celebrated artists to be available for public view and purchase outside a national museum setting.

“Prices range from £1,500 to £35,000 so there is the opportunity to make both an affordable and sound investment choice while celebrating a love of the visual arts.”

Original drawings and ceramics by Jean Cocteau and Pablo Picasso will feature, alongside works by Degas, Miro and Utrillo.

There will be a free catalogue of exhibited items, alongside a brochure providing information on the backgrounds of the artists available for all visitors.

A private viewing of the exhibition is available this Thursday, February 27. Booking is not mandatory.

Thereafter, the exhibition will be on daily for one month between 10am-5pm.
