STAFF at Crewe-based Wulvern gave a warm welcome to students from Petty Pool College in Sandiway, as they commenced a work placement with the affordable homes provider.
As part of the college’s Meaningful Opportunities Realistic Employment (MORE) project, Michaela Degg and Luke Exley, 19, have joined Wulvern’s marketing and estates teams to gain valuable work experience in readiness for when they leave the college in July.
Michaela will be getting to grips with all types of administration tasks at Wulvern’s head office on Crewe Business Park, and outdoor-loving Luke will be helping a team of caretakers out and about in neighbourhoods throughout Crewe and Nantwich.
Linda Downey, MORE project manager said: “The project is a government backed initiative aiming to help young people with a learning difficulty into sustainable employment.
“The experience the students gain from placements goes a long way in supporting their wellbeing and development.”
