A CREWE businessman has created ten new jobs for the town at an entertainment technology store.

Ben Sweeting has set up his own franchise having worked as a CeX (Complete Entertainment Exchange) store manager for six years.

He approached Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, who handed him a £100,000 Enterprise Finance Guarantee loan to open a store on Queensway, Crewe.

Ben said: “CeX offers a unique buying and selling experience to customers and I am passionate about the services that it provides.

“Having been a part of the business group for such a long time, I felt that I was ready to take the next step and open my own store.

“As I reviewed the finances needed to purchase a franchise, I didn’t think it was going to be possible, but the support I received from the Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking team put an end to my concerns and has helped me launch my first business.

“It was great to finally welcome people to the store. We have already seen a great response from customers in Crewe and I plan to open a second premises in the next six to twelve months elsewhere.”

Ben’s funding was granted using the Government-backed Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme, which is an option for those who may lack the collateral to secure traditional funding but have a viable business plan.

Neil Smith, relationship manager at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, added: “This new CeX store is great news for Crewe, creating new jobs and boosting the local economy.”
