I REFER to the planning application for 170 houses on land bounded by Moorfields and Wistaston Road, Willaston.
This application is coming to the Strategic Planning Board on Wednesday, April 2, at 10.30am in the municipal buildings, Earle Street, Crewe.
This is a public meeting and anyone can attend. The board is recommended to be minded to refuse because it is in the open countryside and in the green gap.
I strongly expect the board will accept this recommendation and that would mean the application will be decided by the appeal inspector after an inquiry later in the year.
I am very disappointed that Cheshire East Council have not decided this application in the required time and it is to be decided by the appeal inspector. This has happened several times recently and is not acceptable.
There are good planning reasons to reject this application. I strongly feel that the application should be refused because it is detrimental to the open countryside, impinges on the green gaps between our towns and is unsustainable.
