STUDENTS helped to ease people’s aches and pains by delivering free massages at a popular community event.

Four South Cheshire College Sports Massage students supported the Walk the Walk event – a 3.5 mile annual trip across Crewe.

Walk the Walk, on Sunday April 13 helped to raise hundreds of pounds for Crewe mayor Cllr Dorothy Flude’s chosen charities.

It also aimed to increase awareness of walking as a healthy way to make short journeys, reducing damaging Co2 emissions and traffic congestion.

Fiona Notman, Sports Massage Course Team Leader, said: “The students were pleased to support this local event and put some of their massage skills into practice.

“After a good long walk, they offered participants massage treatments to ease any aches and pains.”

“Being involved in live events, gives students the opportunity to gain confidence and experience working in real sporting environments.

“These are just two of many event opportunities offered to the students this year. Others have included providing support at a series of 10K runs and working with local football clubs.
