CREWE Clean Team blitzed the area behind the Odeon Cinema last weekend - filling 33 sacks of refuse in just 90 minutes.
“Seventeen members met at 10am on a beautiful Saturday morning and tackled the horror show that presented itself at the bottom of the steps at the rear of the car park,” said team chairman, Dave McDonald.
“In that time they filled 33 sacks with assorted rubbish and five with cans for recycling. Three more sacks were filled with glass bottles and ten boxes were filled with broken glass.”
A pipe for smoking drugs was also uncovered, as well as a buggy and shopping trolley.
“Crewe Clean Team is in discussion with the owners of the land - who are not Crewe-based - to try to find a suitable use for this piece of land or, if that cannot be done, to make it safe and secure and clearly marked as private property,” added Dave.
