A LOCAL physiotherapy and wellbeing specialist has been flying the flag for Crewe in Shanghai.

Nicola Suckley, healthcare director at Crewe Business Park-based ctchealthcare, was in China to attend the Global Healthy Workplace Awards.

While there, Nicola visited sites owned by Air Products UK, who CTC have helped develop best working practices to prevent musculoskeletal injury during cylinder handling activities.

The work is part of ctchealthcare’s specialism in ‘industrial ergonomics’, which identifies the best fit between person, equipment and their working environment to prevent injury and reduce time off work.

In the UK, it is estimated that workplace injury costs the economy £5.4 billion a year.

Paul Colman, chief executive of the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce said: “It is very encouraging to see a local company exporting their services to Shanghai, one of the largest city in the world.

“Not only will this raise our profile locally but it highlights once again that Crewe is a dynamic place to do business, somewhere that exports all over the globe.”
