A PAIR of young ballerinas from Crewe will be working with some of the world’s best dancers after being picked to star in a top show.

Bethany Edwards, 13 and sixteen-year-old Jasmine Whitehall were selected from over 200 young hopefuls to appear in a production of Coppelia alongside the English Youth Ballet (EYB).

The young dancers will performs alongside EYB’s international principal artists and gain an insight into what life is like as a professional ballet dancer.

Australian principal ballerina, Amy Drew, who will play the leading role of Swanhilda in the production at Stockport’s Plaza Theatre, praised the work of the two girls.

“I find them incredibly inspiring,” said Amy. “They are so lucky. I wish there had been something like English Youth Ballet when I was training.

“I feel very privileged to be a principal with the EYB as I get to work with some of the UK’s most talented young dancers.”
