CHESHIRE Wildlife Trust will thrown open the gates of its HQ near Nantwich on Sunday June 8.

Bickley Hall Farm will be open for a day of close-up farm fun and special local food BBQ.

Visitors can find out how the trust looks after over 200 acres on the Cholmondeley Estate, as well as getting the chance to meet Hebridean lambs and Longhorn cattle.

Guided walks will be running throughout the day with staff on hand to point out the favourite haunts of farmland wildlife.

A barbeque featuring the trust’s very own nature-grazed beef and lamb will feature, with Longhorn burgers made by recent BBC Food Retailer of the Year award winners, Edge and Son Butchers.

Cheshire Wildlife Trust’s chief executive Charlotte Harris said: “This is the perfect time to see the abundance of wildlife that lives on our farm at Bickley and discover more about the vital role that agriculture plays in our environment and communities.”

Gates open for the free event at 11am. For more information and full directions to the farm visit cheshirewildlifetrust.org.uk
