SHAVINGTON Primary School pupils are to be taken back in time for a show inspired by the centenary of the start of The First World War.

The Time Capsule – 1914 is a new production by Crewe-based theatre company Arty-Fact Theatre Company.

The show is about two children who find an old suitcase when an old school is being demolished and make discoveries about life 100 years ago when The First World War started, and solving a family mystery.

The company is to visit Shavington Primary on Monday, June 2 to launch its UK tour, and pupils will help actors Marcus Cooper and Sarah Gordon to act out scenes including Army training and nursing during The First World War.

Arty-Fact, which is based in Weston Lane, is taking bookings for the production, which is touring the north west and then nationally for four weeks.

It will return in the September term and continue through November to mark the centenary of the start of the 1914-1918 conflict.
