THE Community Games are returning to Crewe swimming pool as part of a fun-filled day of sport and music next month.

A disability swimming gala at Flag Lane from 6pm will be followed by a disco and buffet from 7.30pm at the Lady Verdin Trusts’ drop-in the centre, the Purple Onion, in Edleston Road .

The evening will have a football theme to celebrate this year’s World Cup in Brazil.

Organised by the Seahorse Swimming Club, the Community Games were first introduced to bring communities together with sport and cultural activities during London 2012.

The event is open to people of all ages with a disability, and the participants can compete in swimming races or have fun on the inflatable structure.

Everyone taking part is encouraged to wear their favourite team’s football shirt at the disco.

Admission free. Places limited so interested parties should contact Gareth Roberts on 01270 629958 or Rob Dutton on 01270 663015.
