A YOUNG woman was inappropriately touched as she walked through an industrial estate in Crewe.

The 20-year-old local woman was walking a along the footpath in the area of the Gateway Trading estate in Crewe at around 8pm on Wednesday, June 18, when she was approached by a man, who touched her on the bottom.

The man did not attempt to further assault the victim, who was uninjured but left in shock after the incident.

Police have released an e-fit matching the appearance of the offender.

Cheshire Police inspector, Christian Watkins, said: “While we are confident there is no serious risk of harm to our community following this isolated incident, I would take this opportunity to reiterate basic safety advice, particularly to lone females.

“Try to avoid walking alone particularly in remote areas late at night and stick to well lit areas.

“If you have any concerns or see anyone behaving suspiciously, raise the alarm and contact us.”

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who may recognise the man in the e-fit image, to contact Crewe Police on 101.
