POLICE found a quantity of cannabis and counterfeit notes during a house search in Crewe.

Officers executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a house in Badger Avenue on Monday, June 30.

A spokesman for Crewe neighbourhood policing team said a ‘significant’ amount of cannabis and counterfeit currency were found at the address.

Three local men were arrested on suspicion of supplying cannabis and possession of counterfeit currency.

One of the men was handed an adult caution and the case against the third man was discontinued.

A seventeen year old juvenile who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with supplying cannabis and possession of counterfeit currency.

He will appear at South Cheshire Magistrates Court on July 17.

Sergeant Dave Levins said “This is another example of our dedication to removing and dismantling drug supply in Crewe.

“In this case we acted swiftly on information from the public which is a vital part of policing our community effectively and improving the quality of life for our local residents.”
