A CREWE school choir recorded a heartfelt song penned by a year 6 pupil in response to the ongoing Crimean crisis.
Year Six St Mary’s Catholic Primary School pupil, Sandra Jedrzejak, penned the song’s lyrics after becoming concerned for her grandmother, who lives in a small Ukranian town near the Polish border.
Her words were turned into the song ‘Just Peace’ with the help of the school’s long-time musical collaborator, Jack Wimpenny.
“The school choir have now recorded Sandra’s song, with the verses sung by the Year 6 singers, joined for the chorus by the full choir of singers from Years 3, 4 and 5,” said teacher, Matthew Plant.
“A CD of the recording is a leaving memento for Year Six. They will be very much missed.”
