A CREWE woman is on a mission to raise money for the lifesaving charity which helps her father.
Kym Jones is in training to complete the gruelling Chester Marathon this October in a bid to raise vital funds for Kidney Research UK.
The 27-year-old’s dad, Allan, has polysistic kidneys and has to undergo dialysis treatment every day.
During a fundraising half marathon in May, Kym made a commitment to complete a full 26.2 miles if her total surpassed £1,000.
Having now reached £1,015, she’s thrown herself into training for the big one this autumn.
“My half marathon in May was made even more important after my dad got an infection and was hospitalised just weeks before my race.
“Luckily he had an operation and made it to Chester to see me finish.
“I would also like to thank everyone who has donated, including customers at North Street Post Office and the many businesses.
“All have been incredibly generous.”
