THE Inner Wheel has donated a new outdoor wheelchair to Elm House care home in Nantwich.

The donation will mark the 90th anniversary year of Inner Wheel’s foundation - the women’s only affiliate of the Rotary Club.

The Nantwich chapter of the Inner Wheel was founded in 1958, and many of its 38 members have had connections to Elm House over the years.

The Inner Wheel, which originated in Manchester in 1923, has more than 19,000 members within the UK, and more than 100,000 members across 103 countries, all working hard and contributing to countless humanitarian projects, positively affecting the lives of millions of people.

The money for the wheelchair was raised from the Rotarian’s Christmas parade float.

Elm House manager Nick Brenan said: “We’re fantastically grateful to Inner Wheel for this very thoughtful gift. A big thank you from all our staff and residents."

Activity co-ordinator Mandy Robinson added: “Needless to say the residents are thrilled with the new chair!”
