POLICE in Crewe are worried for the welfare of a teenage who was seen being shoved into a car on Thursday, July 31.

A male teenager was seen to be involved in a struggle with another man, before being placed into the back of a car.

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who may know something about the incident, which took place at about 11.30am, Thursday morning.

The incident happened on Earle Street, near to the roundabout by The Crown public house. The vehicle involved is believed to have been a red Vauxhall Zafira.

Detectives in Crewe are asking for those involved with the incident to make contact with them as they are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of the teenager.

The struggle on Earle Street is not believed to be linked to another incident that happened earlier in the day.

Police were called after a child was approached under suspicious circumstances on Dunwoody Way in Crewe, near Morrisons.

The child was not harmed in anyway, and a 34-year old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident.

The appeal for the teenager on Earle Street is not thought to be related to any concerning behaviour towards children.

Crewe Police have issued a statement on Twitter as a warning to those who may have been involved in the incident but have not yet come forward. “We are actively pursuing wanted people today-if you assist anyone in evading police or harbour them, you too may be prosecuted.”

Anyone with information which would assist police with their enquiries should contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 276 of July 31, 2014.
