CREWE Lyceum Theatre’s family activity day on Saturday, August 2 entertained hundreds of visitors, raising £387.96 in donations for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Families and visitors to the theatre enjoyed activities including face painting, beanstalk potting sessions, crafts, tombola, bake sale and an indoor bouncy castle, along with talks about the history of the theatre, a lighting and music display by the theatre’s technical team and backstage tours.
“Our theatre open days are always a highlight for visitors and staff,” said marketing manager, Gemma Whalley.
“Once again we had a fantastic response from the public and raised money to support a very good cause.”
The line-up of activities were themed around this year’s pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk – coming to the Lyceum in December.
Children and families have been planting ‘magic beans’ to grow their own beanstalks throughout the summer as part of a campaign with materials donated by Bridgemere Nursery and Garden World in Nantwich.
