BRINE Leas School hailed a ‘great year’ for their sixth firm students, with a 99 per cent A-Level pass rate.

51 per cent of students gained A* to B grades, 79 per cent with A* to C and 20 per cent gaining A* or A's .

Headteacher, Andrew Cliffe, said: 'There are some real individual success stories both with those gaining vocational qualifications and those going down the more traditional ‘A’ level route.

“The destinations of our students this year are varied and appropriate - examples of this include Bentley Motors, the BBC, Oxford University, a four-year football scholarship in America and Fashion Design.

“Students have worked really hard and they have also taken advantage of the other opportunities on offer in BL6, such as work experience, charity fund raising and Extended Project Qualification to make themselves ready for the next stage of their lives.

“I believe our students are leaving us confident and well prepared and they can be counted against the very best young people in the country. Well done to staff, students and their families.”
